Digital Health Monthly: Scientific Webinar Series
Sensor-based DHTs are shedding an illuminating light on how people function in their real-world environments. Drug developers, researchers, patients, and regulators are realizing the multifaceted value sensor-based DHTs can bring to clinical research.
As their adoption continues to grow, the ActiGraph team is excited to continue ‘Digital Health Monthly’, a monthly series of science-focused webinars to share the latest high-impact developments in clinical research from innovators in the digital health field. Each month, we feature brief data-driven presentations from clinical researchers, data scientists, and biostatisticians on a focused topic with dedicated time for audience Q&A. We believe that together, we can move the digital health technology field forward faster, and we are excited for this opportunity to facilitate important discussions on the latest research with members of the digital health community.
For decades, actigraphy devices have enabled researchers to collect objective, continuous data on the physical activity, mobility, and sleep patterns of individuals in their daily lives. More recent technological advancements now support the capture of additional information such as vital signs from a single device. This makes wearable digital health technology an appealing tool for academic, public health, and clinical researchers across a variety of disciplines who are aiming to better understand and improve human health.
Support for this type of research often comes in the form of research grants from public and private organizations. While the specific requirements of each grant will vary, there can be common considerations to be aware of when including actigraphy in a grant application, particularly in a rapidly evolving funding landscape.
In this session of Digital Health Monthly, we host a roundtable discussion with researchers that have many years of experience successfully incorporating wearable devices into their grant-funded work. We discuss actionable insights and lessons learned along the spectrum from pre-study planning, to grant submission, to operationalizing your study, with time for audience Q&A. We also review new resources available from Ametris to help researchers better prepare for their grant applications that include actigraphy.
